Seeing the beauty of Islam through the splendor Gallipoli Mosque in Australia

Gallipoli Mosque touted as Australia's largest mosque. The mosque is located near the city of Sydney is open to anyone who wants to know Islam. The grandeur of the interior reflects the beauty of the philosophy contained in Islam. -

If you are visiting Sydney and want to see the life of the Muslim community in the most congested city in Australia, it may be a visit to Auburn area.

But one of the icons for Muslims in this region certainly is the Gallipoli Mosque.

Gallipoli Mosque was built by a community of Turkish immigrants who settled in Auburn. It took about 10 years to build this mosque with a total construction cost more than Rp 60 billion.
"All costs of building this mosque, nearly 95 percent comes from donations Turkish citizens residing in Australia."
The name is derived from Gallipoli Mosque, a region in Turkey. When World War I, in this place there is a war involving Turkey and Australia.
"The name was chosen because they wanted to show the history of ever felt equally between Turkey and Australia." Kuranda said.
The grandeur of the mosque reflects the beauty of Islam
Upon entering the inside of the mosque, you will find carvings calligraphy that reads "Allah", "Muhammad", and pieces of letters and verses of the holy Quran.
These carvings are also decorated with patterns and colors are almost the same as in the interior of the Blue Mosque or even the Prophet's Mosque in Medina.
The combination of traditional calligraphy and modern shades of the Middle East, mostly patterned flowers and foliage, look at the walls and the dome.
"When people go into the mosque, they will be amazed and impressed the beauty of Islam," said Kuranda.
Like the other mosques, Gallipoli Mosque congregation was held five times daily prayers and the Friday prayer.
In the month of Ramadan, they held a joint open, tarawih, and not behind the mosque decorated with lights colorful to brighten the holy month.
While in the daytime, the mosque opens opportunities for non-Muslims to follow the tour into mosques, including the students of the school.
The existence of this mosque also enlighten citizens about that at first looked Islam eye.
"Lately, every event or tragedy, Muslims usually into the media spotlight," said Kuranda.
